Tarrah & Anthony A Mountaintop Elopement

A couple of weeks ago,  Tarrah contacted us to say “We are changing our wedding plans.” My immediate thought was- oh no!! Until she said, we have decided to elope on top of a mountain… can you be there?  Well- of course- We have been dying to photograph mountain elopements…just tell us when and where!!

When we first met Tarrah and Anthony for their engagement session last winter we immediately loved them and could not wait to photograph their wedding. They were so easy to be around, loved each other so obviously , Western Carolina grads who bonded with my husband, shared a common love for the mountains and a girl with a Chaco tan that could rival Dave’s- yep- this was going to be fun.

The day of the elopement arrived and there were all kinds of excited nerves all around. We first met Anthony in the parking lot of the trailhead- looking very handsome in his vest and bow tie- and he and Dave started up the trail to get in place for the first look. Tarrah and Anthony had not seen each other in the past week and you could tell he could not wait to see her again. Tarrah arrived a few minutes later, driving herself in her wedding dress, being the independent women she is. After a few final touches, we headed up the trail to meet up with Anthony. We love first looks. There is just something about that moment that you finally get to see each other for the first time on your wedding day and  you realize that this is real- our lives are about to change -in the most spectacular way.

After their first look- we headed further up the mountain for a few more pictures and where we would  meet their family for the ceremony. Tarrah and her father snuck away up the mountain to spend a few minutes together before he handed his gorgeous daughter over to Anthony. Once everyone arrived, Tarrah made her grand entrance to an emotional crowd and Anthony and Tarrah promised themselves to each other with their own written vows. There was hardly a dry eye on the mountain… even some hikers passing by got caught up in this very special moment.

Congratulations Tarrah and Anthony and thank you for letting us document your special day. The whole thing was spectacular and we are so happy for you both.

Here is a quick sneak peak… we hope you enjoy!!
