Leslie & Bradley- A Grayson Highlands Wedding

We always love a good love story.

And Leslie and Bradley are definitely one of those.

Middle School Sweethearts and together for 12 years- these two were tired of planning to plan a wedding and so excited to get married that they decided they wanted to have a small intimate wedding with just their closest family.

When we first met with Leslie and Bradley- they had heard about one of our recent mountain weddings with a mutual friend of a friend.  They wanted something small and intimate and in the mountains and wanted to know if we had any suggestions.  Dave and I looked at each other and said “Grayson Highlands!”. Grayson Highlands is a Virginia State Park in southwest Virginia that we escape to as frequently as we can.  We have always wanted to photograph a wedding there and if they were game- we would love to show it to them.  A few weeks later we met- showed them around and we all agreed this was the place.  We had a great plan in place for an amazing first look on the cliffs above Massie Gap, a ceremony overlooking the mountains and sunset at Little Pinnacle.  It was going to be “Epic” and we were all so excited with our plan!!

Then November 4th came… and so did rain, clouds and fog.  The weather had other plans for us.  Little did we know when we drove up the mountain that afternoon- these changes would make it so much better than we ever imagined.  Leslie and Bradley were absolutely perfect.  Not only did they look amazing but they were so low key and did not stress about the weather one bit.  They were here to get married in front of their loved ones and that was ultimately the most important thing.  So we moved the first look, adjusted the location of the ceremony and sunset at Little Pinnacle looked different than we planned- but everything was amazingly perfect and now these two can call each other husband and wife!
